COLGATE DEEP CLEAN CHARCOAL TOOTHPASTE REVIEW

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

With activated charcoal becoming all the rage among health conscious, forward-thinking 21st Century consumers, it is no surprise that a company as big as Colgate would bring their own version to market. Presenting Colgate Deep Clean Charcoal Toothpaste, a mainstream variation on the activated charcoal toothpaste that is blowing up all across the Internet.

Colgate Total Charcoal Deep Clean, as it is known in some countries, differs from your traditional charcoal toothpaste in that it is a standard Colgate Total brand toothpaste that is infused with “ultra micro charcoal particles.” The idea here is, users won’t taste the charcoal as much and will enjoy their normal tooth brushing experience but will allegedly reap the benefits of using activated charcoal micro-particles at the same time.

DOES IT WORK?

It would be tough to prove or disprove the effects of Colgate’s charcoal micro-particles since the science behind activated charcoal toothpaste is generally based around the idea that you are putting a significant amount of activated charcoal on your brush at one time when brushing.

The way that traditional activated charcoal toothpaste works is by binding to the plaque and other undesirable things that stick to your teeth and removing them in the brushing process. This is why activated charcoal whitens your teeth—by lifting off the grime and bringing back the shine, so to speak.

benefits of charcoal toothpasteActivated charcoal is a fascinating substance which is ultra-absorbent and is often used in hospitals to save a patient from poisoning. Again, it works by binding to contaminants and other caustic solvents and removing them from your system. But just how much is needed to achieve this end? That is a subject that is up for debate.

It is hard to know whether the micro-particles in Colgate Total Charcoal Deep Clean are sufficient in quantity to effectively remove dirt, plaque and food particles from one’s teeth. What we do know is that their formula is said to be made using clinically proven anti-bacterial technology and supposedly reduces bacteria build-up by as much as 90% for 12 hours after brushing.

COLGATE CHARCOAL’S REP

Colgate Total Charcoal Deep Clean’s reputation among online consumers is a curious one. There are only 5 customer reviews on Amazon with each of those consumers’ experiences ranging wildly between good and bad, satisfied and dissatisfied.

charcoal toothpasteTheir top review gives Colgate Total Charcoal Deep Clean 3 stars with the reviewer saying, “This product is a typical Colgate toothpaste as far as consistency (thick/pasty) & taste. I purchased this product for its charcoal ingredient & familiarity with the Colgate brand for whitening.

“I have not noticed any whitening after two weeks or twice a day use nor did other household members after one week of use.”

At the other end of the spectrum, a consumer by the name of Belle posted that she was pleasantly surprised, adding, “Product arrived 3 weeks earlier than expected! So excited!”

Of course, Belle’s experience is one of consumer convenience rather than product satisfaction. As we see from her review, Belle has not documented her actual experience with Colgate’s charcoal toothpaste.

In fact, of the five reviews on Amazon, only two of them talk about their experience with the product. One was the earlier account of seeing no results while the other is a short blurb about a family who love this toothpaste with little elaboration as to why they love it. On the contrary, it is written in broken English, suggesting a third party affiliate of the company or its marketing team may have been responsible for it.

Elsewhere, we find rather anonymous testimonials on a home testing website and a gleeful endorsement by an Asian girl who is into Cosplay. This, too, seems manufactured, particularly since the top Amazon search for the brand results in a page where you can buy the product from a Thailand manufacturer with the company’s name and product information spelled out in the Thai alphabet.

Further research suggests that the brand is being pimped hard in Singapore. This is hardly a shocker considering that medicinal use of charcoal has always been embraced by other parts of the world long before the Western world discovered its potential for health and beauty purposes.

Other tame and unspecific reviews can be found on sites like Try and Review. But you aren’t likely to learn anything you haven’t already learned here…which…isn’t a lot. In summary, there are many activated charcoal toothpaste formulas out there that have a much stronger reputation than Colgate Total’s Charcoal Deep Clean.

COLGATE TOTAL CHARCOAL ALTERNATIVES

Maybe you saw DIY activated charcoal methods online and though you had to prepare it by hand. Then you came across Colgate Total Charcoal Deep Clean in your local grocery store and thought those were your only options.

Well, let me tell you, nothing could be further from the truth. There are more charcoal toothpaste brands out there than you can count on two hands or even thirty-two teeth, for that matter.

Active Wow offers Activated Coconut Charcoal Powder which can be mixed with water and applied to your toothbrush. This one holds a five-star rating among Amazon consumers and comes from a company with a solid rep.

Neutripure.com has a product called Clay Charcoal Toothpaste & Whitener which holds an average 3-star rating among 60 Amazon consumers. It is 100% natural and contains calcium bentonite clay which promotes remineralization of tooth enamel by neutralizing acids and bacteria.

Clay Charcoal Toothpaste & Whitener is said to be a great product by some, but others have called it a waste of money, saying they were disappointed with the packaging and, in at least one case, claiming that the product arrived with a broken seal.

Twin Lotus offers active charcoal toothpaste called Herbaliste Triple Action 100 G X 1 Tube. It boasts an average 5-star rating with customers calling it an “amazing product.” Some customers have said that it works but the taste is quite bad. Still, others have said that they noticed improvements immediately.

Our own brand of activated charcoal toothpaste is guaranteed to be 100% pure and we stand by that statement. But customers are encouraged to do their own independent research. We want our customers to be completely satisfied with our activated charcoal.

Curious consumers are welcome to reach out to us with any questions or concerns. We all strive to have nice, clean, pearly white teeth and fresh, pleasant breath.

So harness the all-knowing power of your wisdom teeth and find the paste that’ll have you smiling.
